This wine is selected some of the most active barrels from Sanlucar with minimal Filtering. You will find the sherry from Lustau in the supermarket but you rarely find this trendy En Rama Manzanilla. Flor and herbal on the nose. Nice, intense, and round in the mouth.

Description

You will find the sherry from Lustau commonly in supermarkets, but this En Rama series may not easy to find in Hong Kong. Lustau selected some of its most active barrels from the three corner cities of the sherry triangle i.e. Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and El Puerto de Santa María, to be bottled with minimal filtering in Spring 2020.

This wine is from the region Sanlúcar de Barrameda so it will be called Manzanilla instead of Fino. When compared with the other two, this one has more herbal notes.

Nose: Wet pebblestones in the sun, mixed with green apple. Straw and dried chamomile flowers, hints of sesame seeds as well as some white bread. Hints of bouquet garni as well. A classic.

Mouth: nice and intense. There are plenty of zingy minerals but also a kind of rounder pastry-like note in the background. Sweet lemon and sea spray. Just a pinch of pepper in the end. Long, coastal finish, with a gently bitter hint of dried herbs and grapefruit peel. It leaves your mouth dry and clean, waiting for food to pair with.

You will be surprised how the chilled Fino sherry chills you up under the hot summer. Dry and crispy palate with saltness and nuttiness pair very well with party snacks.
