La Báscula is a Spanish wine project created by Englishman Ed Adams MW and South African winemaker Bruce Jack to showcase the potential of local grape varieties in the different wine regions. The wines in the range have intrinsic balance; there is a balance between indigenous Spanish varieties and modern winemaking.
The Charge red is made from grapes mainly from the bodega’s own vineyards - 63% Tempranillo, 30% Garnacha, and 7% Graciano, harvested mid-September 2016. We have increased the percentage of Garnacha with this producer since it is so good! The wine was aged for an average of 9 months in a mix of French and American oak barrels.
A classic Rioja!
