Mas Igneus Coster de l'Ermita 2012
This wine is from the single vineyard located in the heart of Priorat also represents the best Carignan grape in that area. After the fermentation, the wine will age 12 months in 90% new fine-grained French oak barrels, 10% American oak. Do you think it may too oaky for you? No, I currently tasted this wine and found the oak is well integrated. It shows very balance on the acidity, fruit, and tannin. Even the alcohol level is 15% but you won't feel that heaviness. Can keep 2 - 3 more years but I enjoy to drink now.
RP-92+ ".. the very ripe black fruit, peat, smoke, spices, and some violets manage to come through. The slightly rustic palate has grainy tannins and shows the harshness of the Priorat landscape during the summer months of this dry, warm and early vintage. .." 6/15
