Here we have a bottle of class Pendes sparkling wine blend. It was harvested from a very old vineyard and aged for a long time in the bottle before being released. The bubbles are fine and the acidity is good, with a saline expression that comes from the land.

Description

The 2019 De la Finca wine selection, made from vineyards chosen by Pepe Raventós's grandfather, has a more traditional taste. It is produced in a slightly more oxidative style and aged for over 30 months with lees. The 2019 vintage was excellent and "normal" with normal yields, good rain, and a paused harvest. The wine has a smoky flavour from the contact of yeasts and lees, with very fine bubbles that are subtle and defined. The second fermentation in the bottle and ageing in the bottle contribute to the taste. The wine is made with 50% Xarel.lo, 40% Macabeo, and 10% Parellada.

They exclusively offer certified organic wines and implement biodynamic practices (though only their vineyards are certified). They adapt their level of dryness based on the particular vintage. Recently, they celebrated their 150th anniversary and marked the occasion by releasing a limited edition case of library wines, which includes one bottle each from 1985 and 1986. Their yearly production is approximately 500,000 bottles.
