Description

Sandra Bravo's fourth vintage of old-vine Garnacha from Rivas de Tereso is just as exceptional as its previous iterations. The wine is aged in 300-litre clay amphoras, which gives it an incredible fragrance and intensity. The palate is lively and energetic, with a delightful sweetness of bramble and red cherry fruit, complemented by fine tannins. Overall, it is a truly remarkable wine.

Sierra de Toloño was founded by Sandra Bravo in 2012. She produces wine using grapes from vineyards located in Rivas de Tereso, a small hamlet situated at the foothills of the Toloño mountain range. The vineyards are located at an altitude of over 600 meters, which is at the limit of vine cultivation, but this altitude provides excellent freshness to the wine produced. Sandra can only recover a small quantity of wine from old vineyards, but the quality is exceptionally high. In recognition of her work, Tim Atkin MW named her a "Young Winemaker of 2019" and her wine rose to The First Growth group in Rioja in 2023 which is the same level as wineries like 'La Rijoa Alta'.
