Grape Variety: 100% Cartoixà (Xarello)

New vintage 2016 Venus de Cartoixà is back! This time award 96 points from RP. 

The grapes come from 60 years old vine.  It ferments with wild yeasts and macerates with 20% of the skin 3 and 6 months. This wine is aged for 12/24 months in the same barrels. It is a natural wine without added sulfites (SO2). It has the complex nose of dried flowers, chalk, apples, and herbs. The savory character of this wine suggested from the wild yeast. The palate is expressive also, long and tasty.

No need to pair with food! Definitely can enjoy it alone. It is truly an amazing wine!

As Luis Gutiérrez from Wine Advocate mentioned: "I loved the 2016 Venus de Cartoixà from the moment I put my nose in the glass....and I also find that here but this time with touches of the mineral whites from Coche-Dury. Go figure! The most Burgundian of the Venus wines. The only vineyard used until 2016 only produces some 900 bottles"
