Description

This wine, the Venus de Cartoixà, is made entirely from the Cartoixà (Xarel.lo) grape variety and has just been released in its new vintage for 2018. It has received a 96-point rating from RP, which is impressive. The grapes used to make this wine come from 60-year-old vines, and the fermentation process involves the use of wild yeasts. Additionally, the wine is macerated with 20% of the skin for a period of 3 to 6 months and is then aged in barrels for 12 to 24 months. This is a natural wine that does not contain any added sulfites, resulting in a complex nose that includes notes of dried flowers, chalk, apples, and herbs. The wine's savoury character comes from the wild yeast used in the fermentation process, and the palate is long and tasty. This wine is so delicious that it can be enjoyed on its own without the need for food. Try it out and be amazed!

As Luis Gutiérrez from Wine Advocate mentioned: "This 2018 was released in May 2022 and is now very expressive, approachable and mineral, sharp and fresh, with pungent flavours and very good length. It has 13.5% alcohol, amazing balance and a salty finish. Sharp and straight. Only 900 bottles were filled in July 2019"
